Savannah Jaouhari, M.A.
Associate Clinical Professional counselor

Do you struggle to get through the day? Feel lost and overwhelmed no matter how hard you try to catch up? Are you ready to find joy and let go of guilt and emptiness? You're not alone in this journey; many people face these challenges, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

I specialize in working with individuals and couples who are feeling disconnected, experiencing anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, and evolving couple dynamics including fertility and postnatal challenges. As a registered provider, and advocate with Postpartum Support International, I support parents who are struggling with Postpartum Blues and PMAD (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders). Additionally, I use an attachment- informed approach to support mothers in building bonds with their children, exploring sexual wellness, and dispelling common myths of parenthood.  Using a holistic, compassionate, and culturally-considerate approach, I work to empower individuals and couples to experience healthy, fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.

Savannah is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor supervised by Hanna Stensby, LMFT. She uses a combination of therapeutic approaches, including Person-centered, Somatic experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, and The Gottman Method, and works with clients to build a therapeutic relationship together where change can truly occur. Savannah graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University with a master’s degree in clinical counseling. She has completed additional advanced training in the Gottman Method of Couples therapy, perinatal mood disorders and postpartum support . Savannah has clinical experience at OPICA working with older adults dealing with dementia and their families and caregivers. She has additional clinical experience at the country’s largest non-profit agency, The Help Group, providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and families. Her work at the agency has given her experience working with BIPOC and economically disadvantaged populations facing eating disorders, trauma, and racial bullying.

What to expect when working with me

I focus on identifying client strengths and incorporating them as a foundation of treatment. Additionally, I incorporate a trauma-informed approach using attachment theory to help clients understand how their early experiences with attachment figures may be impacting their current relationships with themselves, their partners, or their infants. I also offer perinatal and postpartum support groups to assist birthing parents in navigating the challenges of the pregnancy, birth, and parenthood experience.

Through a combination of therapeutic approaches, including Somatic Psychology, CBT, Attachment-focus, Strengths-based, Gestalt, and The Gottman Method, I work collaboratively with clients to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs and goals. Regardless of one’s intention for seeking therapy, I aim to collaborate with my clients to cultivate a space between us that is fitting for their specific needs. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and BIPOC provider and offer inclusive and affirming therapy to all my clients.
